Q. How should I use my Bugscanner to detect wireless cameras and wireless microphones (“Bugs”)?
A. The Buscanner wireless camera and microphone detector should be used whenever you are in a hotel, motel, tanning room, shower area, guest-house, time share, office, vacation house or any area you may have little control over. Tiny wireless cameras have a very tiny opening and can be hidden alone or inside devices such as the examples to the right.

Q. Will my Bugscanner detect all hidden cameras and microphones?
A. The Bugscanner will detect most all commercially sold Wireless cameras and mics.

Q. How long will the battery last??
A. The battery is a small, inexpensive, easy to replace “watch battery” and should last several months with average use.

Q. Is it necessary to raise the antenna on my Bugscanner?
A. Raising the antenna on your Bugscanner will increase the sensitivity and range. Lowering the antenna on your Bugscanner will decrease the sensitivity and range.

Q. How close do I have to be with my Bugscanner to detect a hidden wireless camera?
A. All wireless cameras broadcast a radio frequency (RF) signal. Your Bugscanner should detect a hidden wireless camera from 5 feet to 18 inches away depending on the strength of the signal from the wireless camera. Each manufacturer’s camera and frequency varies.

Q. What if the Bugscanner starts beeping around my computer monitor or TV?
A. When detecting wireless “bugging” devices, it is highly recommended that TVs and computers be turned off because they do emit a very small amount of RF. If you must leave the TV on to search for a wireless device, be sure to use the “B” button while scanning an area close to the TV.
